Ancient wonders. A deeper journey. Explore five selected destinations, distinctive accommodation and the practical information that connects them.

Egypt combines globally important archaeological landscapes, a large urban museum-and-culture offer, and established Red Sea resort regions. The tourism ministry’s reported 2025 total was nearly 19 million international tourists, a rounded annual figure rather than the sum of monument admissions or domestic trips. The World Bank country page displayed nominal GDP of USD 365.25 billion for 2025. For itinerary design, the key distinction is between Cairo and Nile heritage travel, which involves substantial sightseeing and transfers, and a resort-led beach stay with a different cost structure. The five selections are Cairo and Giza, Luxor, Aswan with Abu Simbel, Greater Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheikh. Cairo and Giza pair the pyramids and museums with historic urban districts; Luxor concentrates major temples and royal tombs on two banks of the Nile. Aswan adds Philae and Nubian heritage, while Abu Simbel requires a separate long excursion rather than a short city transfer. Hurghada and Sharm offer different Red Sea bases, and access to either resort area should not be generalized to unrestricted travel across Sinai or remote border regions. EG_DESTEG_ASWEG_UNESCO
Eligible nationalities can use the official Egypt e-Visa portal, preferably applying at least seven days before departure and carrying the resulting printout. The official FAQ consulted for this dataset listed USD 30 for a single-entry tourist eVisa and USD 65 for multiple entry. It also specified at least six months of passport validity on arrival, an itinerary, and accommodation details. Other passports must establish the correct consular or permitted arrival route, and the issued permission—not a general travel article—controls the allowed stay. EG_VISEG_APPLY
The editorial midrange baseline is USD 65-140 per person per day with double-room sharing, excluding international flights, longer intercity travel, visas, and premium guided activities. Temple tickets, specialist guides, cruises, diving, and domestic flights can materially change the total. The hotel shortlist includes Four Seasons Cairo, Hilton Luxor, Old Cataract in Aswan, The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh, and Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh. Old Cataract is identified under its current Mandarin Oriental management and carries a renovation warning; the listing does not promise unrestricted facilities or live room availability. October to April is a useful editorial window for a Nile-heritage route, although Red Sea preferences vary by resort, weather, and activity. Match the arrival airport to the actual destination: Cairo or Sphinx, Luxor, Aswan or Abu Simbel, Hurghada, and Sharm are not interchangeable gateways. FCDO warnings cover North Sinai, specified border areas, and additional restricted regions, so inland road extensions require separate review. Confirm monument access, licensed transport or marine operators, airline operation, and exact hotel terms before converting the dataset into a booking. EG_ADVEG_DESTEG_ASWEG_UNESCO
